Hi!
My name is Laurie Bernard, I am a U.S. based creative writer and copywriter with a degree in English from the University of Connecticut. (Go Huskies!) I specialize in digital advertising, more specifically Instagram ads for beauty and fashion related brands. My copy is youthful, clever and speaks to a Gen-Z demographic. My creative writing is introspective with descriptive prose. Overall my work seeks to create an authentic connection with the audiences that read it.
My Story
As a kid I was curious, talkative, and lived in my own imagination. By the age of 7 I traded my barbies for books and never looked back. My mom often found me awake, past my bedtime, very conspicuously hiding the book I was reading underneath my pillow. In 2nd grade I decided that I wanted to be an author and in 3rd grade I ran laps around the house in excitement when my parents bought me my first notebook for Christmas. Growing up my aspirations changed from an author, to video game developer, screenwriter, and many others. What stayed consistent was my love for storytelling.
My love of writing led me to studying English at UConn. One day during a biology test - which I didn't study for - I prayed to God, telling him that if I passed I promised to be more serious about my craft and dedicate my life to writing.
I aced the exam and now I have to keep up my end of the deal.
